Tematiche:

We integrate seismological and structural data of active faults with laboratory earthquakes to improve our understanding of earthquake physics, recently also with deep learning methods.
We study waveforms of recent earthquakes, occurred both in Italy and around the world, to gain insights into the seismic source via dynamic and kinematic models.

We use gravimetric and geodetic data to model volcanic systems.On these research topics we have acquired an international leadership, also testified by prestigious European research grants (ERC and Marie Curie), publications on high-impact journals (Nature, Science Advances, Nature Geoscience, Nature Communications) and numerous invited talks at international conferences. Unconventional aspects of our research deals with seismicity induced by modern geo-energy production and green energy (CO2 storage and enhanced geothermal energy).
